An excellent plan!
What do you need cabinets for then? Just bolt the drivers right into the wall! Infinite baffle, right?
Don't forget to install a door so you can hook up the speaker cables.
I've decided to build a wall around my speakers.

A truly infinite baffle, not something which is measured in cubic foot dimensions of 20 or less, will be "tuned" to the free air resonant frequency of the driver. What you have attempted is akin to the "wings" on the theater installations which will aid in projecting the sound forward. It might be just a tad better if the walls were on the same plane as the front of the cabinets. It appears as though those are bass reflex and you have a little more efficiency. Thumbs up on youre desire and ability to do whatever it take to make youself happy. I took me almost 10 years to get my stuff into the house I live in now even though my wife had lived with them in an apartment some years before. There's a discussion on the Vinyl Engine web site where one member has an EV 30w mounted in the attic through the ceiling.

I usually talk about a project for at least 6 months before I pick up a screwdriver, so I salute you, Sir!![]()

Ditto, props to the man of action!
The full LF reinforcement of a true half space listening environment can be addictive. It can also make further acoustic room treatments a must.

and look at all that extra room you have now for a popcorn machine!

I've noticed on occasion that I sometimes gain a whole new perspective on speaker mods when listening to them the next day with "fresh ears". Sometimes the mods are subtle enough that when you're working with the speakers for hours on end, they start to sound "right" to you even if they don't! Then for example, as you mentioned, you come home from work etc. the next day and fire them up (with presumably "fresh ears"), and you then can tell immediately what you've achieved (or failed to achieve). With "fresh ears" you notice things that you didn't notice the day before when you'd been working with them for hours on end.....
